Hearts is an “evasion-type” trick-taking playing card game for four to six players. The objective in playing this game is to be the player with the lowest score at the end of each game. When a player hits the agreed-upon score or higher, the game ends; and the player with the lowest score wins.
How is this game being scored? At the end of each round, players count the number of hearts they have taken as well as the queen of spades.
Hearts count as one point each and the queen counts 13 points. The aggregate total of all scores for each round must be a multiple of 26.
When a player takes all 13 hearts and the queen of spades in one hand, instead of losing 26 points, that player scores zero, and each of his opponents’ scores, on the other hand, will have an additional 26 points.
Like Hearts, Spades is a trick-taking card game made in the United States in the 1930s. It can be played with some friends or a solo, “cutthroat” type of game. The objective of this game is to have the least number of tricks bid.
The game is usually played to 100 points but some do it by 50s.
How is this game being played? The game is scored by hand, and the winner must score a specific number of points that are determined before the game begins. Although 500 points are usual, 200 points are sufficient for a quick game. If feasible, the player on the dealer’s left takes the lead, and the other players must follow suit. If a player is unable to follow suit, he or she may discard or play a trump. The person who plays the highest trump or, if no trump was played, the player who led with the highest card in the suit, wins the trick. The player who wins the trick is the next to take the lead. The game will continue until no one has any cards left.
Each hand has a value of 13 tricks. Spades can only be led if they have already been played or if the player leading has just Spades in his hand.
